A filter cartridge-based solution offers a quick to install and low maintenance option compared to most wider treatment systems. Each cartridge features filter pads on either side of the media to prevent migration, alongside an integrated gasket to create a positive seal with the head of the filter housing. This helps to prevent untreated water from bypassing the cartridge whilst keeping the specialist nitrate resin in place. Why Treat Nitrates In Drinking Water?The Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) and World Health Organisation (WHO) both recommend that nitrate levels in drinking water do not exceed 50mg per litre. High levels of nitrates in drinking water can reduce the ability of red blood cells to carry oxygen, which can be particularly dangerous for infants and immune-compromised individuals. How Long Do These Nitrate Removal Filters Last?The frequency of filter change will depend on the levels of nitrates in your water and the water usage. Customers with 10mg/l of nitrates can expect approximately 1,000L of treated water before the filter needs to be replaced.
